Our Story
Embark on the journey through the timeline of BlueSky Experiences, where innovation, passion and a commitment to excellence have shaped a remarkable narrative in the realm of experiential learning and team development.
2001 - 2002
Established in 2001 as a result of farm diversification by founders James and Suzie England, BlueSky Experiences has maintained its personal touch while expanding into diverse business areas, offering customer-focused products and services. The journey began with the inaugural events held in the farmhouse, and during the 2001/2002 winter, farm buildings were transformed into meeting spaces. Simultaneously, the core activities, including the Ultimate Puzzle Zone and Adventure Zones, were developed, marking a pivotal moment as BlueSky Experiences ventured into hosting events in 2002.
2005 - 2006
Responding to the need for multiple events on the same day and a growing demand for conferencing, we made a strategic investment in constructing a comprehensive conference center at BlueSky HQ and we extended our portfolio of experiential learning events by introducing a high ropes course.
Simultaneously, the business office transitioned from portacabins to a modern farm conversion, reflecting our commitment to enhancing both infrastructure and services.
2008 - 2009
In 2008, we initiated a leisure division, Great Away Days, offering activities throughout Scotland for both leisure and inbound incentive groups. The following year, in 2009, we embraced a multi-sited approach by establishing our first partnership with Melville Castle Hotel in Edinburgh. This strategic move enabled us to provide our services in closer proximity to our valued customers while also offering convenient accommodation options.
2008 - 2009
In response to customer demand and a desire to enhance our facilitation expertise, we became an Insights Partner in June 2012. Recognising an opportunity in 2013, we transformed our impressive venue into a wedding destination, giving rise to Bachilton Barn Weddings. The following year, in 2014, our commitment to Insights deepened as we acquired the esteemed Insights Partnership business from Dee Logan, instantly doubling our Insights activity.
2018 - 2021
In 2018, witnessing rapid growth in the wedding business, we seized the opportunity to enhance our offerings by incorporating accommodation through the addition of farm cottages. Fast forward to 2021, and we embarked on a new venture with Agritourism holidays under Bachilton Farm Holidays. This involved a significant investment in both our wedding and accommodation services, including the construction of a glamping site featuring two yurts and the addition of seven hot tubs.
2021 - 2023
Throughout the pandemic, BlueSky remained dynamic, achieving a notable milestone in 2021 with the receipt of an Innovate UK award to enhance our online experiential activity and learning platform. Continuing our forward momentum, 2023 has witnessed the formation of a valuable partnership at Deene Park outside Corby, establishing a significant presence for us in the Midlands.
